The POWER of Your DAYS OFF
FULL PODCAST EPISODE 038
In today’s society we’re overworked, over-stressed, sleep deprived, and feel forced to be productive, but it’s very important to spend time in rest and live in the present moment. Less and less people spend time with their family during dinner time, preferring to overstimulate their brain rather than participate in human connection.
Tap into your inner child and remember how to play, as your body needs rest and recuperation. Caffeine is also very hard on your body and needs a recovery time. When most people are tired, they use substances to re-stimulate themselves and keep going, but it gets to a point where you burnout and can’t do anything, and once your cortisol levels drop, they won’t come back.
Use your weekends and vacations to be spontaneous and not have any worries, listen to the signs of your body. It’s okay to occasionally underachieve and rest. Even if you have a deadline, you can work for 40 minutes and take a 10 minute break. Schedule your rest time the same way you schedule your productive time, but make sure to honor this time and don’t squeeze any tasks in. Protect your rest time and take a few hours to live and grow in the moment without doing anything. You may believe that you constantly need to achieve in order to grow, but some of the greatest growth periods come from being in the moment and having awareness.
You have a lot of goals and plans for your life, but what are your family goals? Are you actively taking time out to be with your loved ones? Rest days are best to spend quality time with your family and connect with other people. Allow your soul to breathe, heal and move, and by the time Monday comes back around you will be much more charged and ready to take on the day!
To your continued evolution, live it up with POWER, PURPOSE & PASSION!
